I'll be trying to post up DIYs every week or so because I'm getting really poor these few days.
Today's DIY will be.....
Turning your old long jeans to new shorts! |
I don't have a light pair of denim shorts, and when my aunt came over with her bag of clothes for sorting/donating, I came across this pair of light wash denim and thought that it might look good as a pair of high waist shorts!
I've been wearing shorts to school almost every order because:
1. The weather is blazing hot!
2. I have to carry really alot large, heavy and bulky items. I can't afford to trip and fall in a skirt.
3. Most of the time, I climb stairs, therefore shorts are much more comfortable.
But of course, I will be incorporating more jeans/leggings/ maxi skirts into my outfits! So do look forward to that because I for course, am looking forward to see myself in skirts as well. Haha. Okay, back to this DIY. It's a really simple and basic DIY.
Step 1: With a pencil, mark the desired length of your shorts when you're wearing them. |
Step 2: Fold the jeans about 1" - 2" AFTER your pencil mark and CUT IT OFFFFF OH YEAH! |
Step 3: There you go! 1 leg down and another to go :) Just fold the jeans into half, like how you'd do normally . Even everything out and slice the other leg off! |
Step 4: Unfold your jeans (seriously, this step is redundant) and TA-DAH! |
Breakdown of Total Cost:
Old Long Jeans x 1 = $0.00 (Secondhand)
Scissors x 1 = $1.90
Time x 15mins = $0.00
Total Cost: $1.90 (which is probably not even justifiable since most of you would have a pair of scissors at home! Hence, it will be $0.00
Till then guys,
Rock your shorts.
nette.
