Battle of the Eyeliners - Round 1: Loreal Super Liner VS Essence Superfine Eyeliner

HELLOOOOOOOO EVERIBARDEI.

Long time no see! School started and sucked everything once again. After completing this post, I'm back to the enormous pile of drawings that I should be starting on. Anyway, CNY is coming up, and I really don't want my relatives telling me that I've gained weight over the past year. It's really really a mood spoiler and it will probably result in me eating every pineapple tart in hesitation - HOW COULD THEY!?

So yes, I've been running (again -_-), although not very religiously, ever since the year started, and thought that 'hey, it'd be a good time to try out the fade resistance of some of the eyeliners!' I find that sometimes, the insane weather makes walking home from school, feels like I just ran a marathon. So, why not let's exploit the chance of leisure running, and test out the fade resistance of the eyeliners!

And the first two contestants are.....

Loreal Super Liner Black Laquer VS Essence Superfine Eyeliner Pen

BEFORE running:

So, I simply applied a slight winged eyeliner, with Essence on the left, and Loreal on the right. I didn't apply anything prior to the eyeliner, so this is tested based directly on my bare skin. I applied sunblock on my face, but I excluded the eye area.

---

AFTER running:

TADA! No smudges to both, I must say that they both did really well for the test. I wasn't expecting much of a change with Loreal's, but am pleasantly surprised with Essence. :) I usually apply Essence on a daily basis - to school. However if I intend to hang out after class with my friends for dinner/movies, I'll apply Loreal to save me the hassle of touching up and all that.

However, while bathing, I realised that Essence came off really easily with warm water, whereas Loreal stayed put until I gently rubbed it off. Funny how Essence managed to withstand heat and facial oil, but lost with lukewarm water! So, no Essence for sobfest movies or dramas!

Loreal Super Liner Black Laquer - $21.90 SGD
Essence Superfine Eyeliner Pen - $7.90 SGD (definitely less than $10!)

Essence brand make up can only be found in major Watson's store. I got mine from Bedok Central, and saw that Parkway has them too, so check their stuff out :)

Cynthia's recent haul

Hello all! This is my most recent haul which happened today! Hahahhahaa like instantaneous update right! So have u may read my exams are over! But I'm super tired both physically and mentally from school so I'm gonna be a leech this holiday. Not gonna work and slack everyday teehee! My blackberry finally gave way and I bought an iPhone and an iPad! Because if the iCloud stuff that's why I'm gonna be a apple fan! I feel so stupid to buy so much apple products but well, it's convenient?

Anyways back to the haul! I have finished my dhc moisturiser and sunblock for face. But I don't like it as i get the oily feeling on my face after the application :( so I went out today planning to eat dinner with my friends but I ended up spending so much on these... Tell me about it girls... Le sigh. Basically i have bought masks, moisturiser, sunblock, bb cream, hair stuff and scrub for my face :)

Girls, it's really important to do skin care for your face. Time would really take a toll on our face. Since I passed my 20 mark, my face was no longer as good as it was. You know like after clubbing or studying all night my face would still look good. As in not tired at all. Well, at least it used to... But now?!?! My face becomes fucking cui (shag looking) when I don't have enough sleep. So girls! Lets start taking care of our faces now! Better late than never my love :)

XOXO

Nails for school!

Hello all~ School's in again! gosh... I'm not over my holidays :( Feeling quite down about it. SOOOOOOO what does a girl do to cheer herself up apart from shopping and eating? to do her nails! haha! I decided to do it myself because you know, when you are studying, even staring at a wall seems fun. Decided to take a break and paint some girly nails! :)

For those who wanna do some nails too, I used 5 items for this design.

From left to right:
1.Sally hansen as hard as nails strengthener (Acts as a base coat as well)
2. Sally hansen diamond strength- fast dry top coat
3. OPI- I've got a date tonight (LOVE THEIR PINK OMGAWD)
4. Faceshop- White nail polish
5. Some nail deco- super small shiny balls? I used sliver as I didn't want to have too much going on!

SO YAY for me! Pretty nails to kick start my school!

XOXO,
Cynthia

I WANT PERFECT SKIN!

HEYYYYYYY! Happy new year dear girls! erm and boys? haha! Don't know if any boys read this blog. Since this is a super girly blog I suppose... Not? HAHA! Sorry, don't be offended ok! you guys can leave a comment and correct me. I stand corrected. hehe

(sorry with the poor quality of the picture took it with my webcam haha. It's like 1am over here. I couldn't sleep so I thought I should blog HAHA! I promise I will use my ACTUAL camera camera... next time! TEEHEE!  It's me trying to look stress haha~)

SOOOOOOOO! perfect skin!!!! Thats like a dream.... AHHHHHH! Imagine life without going with makeup? ok I'm exaggerating. Minimal makeup maybe. haha!

I want perfect skin because:
1. I'm too lazy to put on makeup everyday.
2. I want people to recognise me without makeup.
3. I want to look pretty everyday!!!!

Everything damage our skin. The sun, polluted air, air-con, weather, fried food... I can go on and on about this but I think you all get my point. Many think that we can fake a perfect skin with makeup. Yes, you are right! Provided that you are a skillfully trained makeup artist with all the equipments like air bush foundation and stuff. Anyway, you need to have good skin for easier application of makeup. It's like why painters paint on white canvas.
(I'm being super brave ok! This is a picture of me without makeup!)

After understanding the importance, let's get down to work!

Step 1: GOOD FACIAL WASH AND FACIAL SCRUB!
Facial wash that I'm using: White powder wash by kose
Facial Brush: Olay professional pro x
Facial Scrub: Natio Gentle Facial Scrub
Gosh I can't stress how important cleaning your face is. Should you not clean your face properly, dirt and oil is gonna pile up on your face and clog up all the pores causing you alllllllll sorts of problems. Anyway! There are plenty of facial wash in the market with different purpose! I like whitening facial wash as the sun in Singapore is CRAZY! I love Korean and Japanese facial wash products as I find them the most effective. The problem is WHEN do you wash your face with facial wash? DEFINITELY wash before your daily skincare routine at night! Should your face be normal/dry skin type, you can wash with plain water in the morning. If it's oily, go ahead and use the facial wash.

This is the one that I'm using. It's super cool! IT'S IN THE FORM OF POWDER!!!! HOW DO THEY EVEN? OH GOSH THOSE JAPANESE ARE GOOD! All you do is wet your hand, pour out a little and clean!
IT'S REALLY POWDERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR! OMGAWD

For me, I used to wash my face with my hands until they started producing facial brushes. Neutrogena wave brush was like a joke to me. Felt like it wasn't clean at all mannnnnn! Than Olay to the rescue! The brush tips are so darn fine and it really improved my skin alot! My nose used to have little blackheads but the condition improved so much after one month of consistent usage.

Anyway! it's totally waterproof and has two different speed with a replaceable brush head. I was quite skeptical but I just bought it anyway... This is awesome. ZERO regrets.

And it's super important to scrub away/exfoliate those dead skin cells off your face once a week!
I bought this my last haul! hehe... I find that it's not as rough as the other scrubs that I have tried. Feels clean and gentle on skin!

Ok step 2: Tone and moisturize!
Toner and moisturizer works hand in hand. Toner cleans the very last bit of dirt on your face, however can dry up your face so apply moisturizer after! HYDRATE AND HYDRATE!
I'm currently using this Korean brand of toner and moisturizer called Dr. G! I find the products are easily absorbed and it's really good! The moisturizer came with a scoop omg! I LOVE IT! (I find it disgusting to scoop directly from the jar with my fingers...)

That's about it! The BASICS!!!!!!

Now... for the advanced

MY MORNING ROUTINE!

I would wash my face with water followed by some toner. After that, I would use this day cream- Natio renew radiance day cream. It feels oily at first, but after it will not be after it's absorbed into your skin. I would also use facial sunblock before I leave my house as the UV rays will cause us to age prematurely and damage our skin.

My makeup remover
Do you know that you have to use makeup remover to remove sunblock on your face if not your face will age 5 times faster???? OMGAWD! I'm currently using Chanel makeup remover. I feel that it does clean pretty well but its super oily :( The good thing is this is a all in one cleanser! It's a face+ eyes + lips makeup remover! BRILLIANT!

My Facial Mist!

For people who spend a considerable amount of time in air-conditioned rooms, it reallllyyyyyy dries up your skin. It's really important to keep it hydrated! I use this Natio refreshing facial mist. I used the face shop facial mist previously but the fruity smell was too strong for my liking. This Natio facial mist doesn't really have a smell and it can be absorbed into your skin in less than 5 seconds. The good thing that it doesn't only refreshes your skin, it FRESHENS your makeup! HOW COOL IS THAT!

Lastly, wanting to get a perk me up? Need to go on a date tomorrow? Or a job interview? TA-DA I introduce you my favorite part of my skin care regime. FACIAL MASKS!!!!! I use this thing called ampoule first follow by my masks as I find that my skin becomes really nice after that! It's supple and really hydrated. Helps prevents oily skin and wrinkles haha! ready to see my collection???

I keep all of my skin care in my mini fridge as I find that it closes my pores...

Anyway, I use this brand of ampoules- ceutical! I love this so much that I bought ALOT of them. It's quite cheap! you can find them on Gmarket hehe! I have collagen (prevention is better than cure) and hydrating and whitening... Idk what I just bought alot! see the white boxes on the first shelf? yeah those are my ampules haha! I find that it's cheap and effective...

Ok NEXT! my facial masks! It extends all the way below the chin and you hook it onto your ears! Tightening effects! NO NO NO DOUBLE CHIN! too lazy to take a photo so I just grabbed it from sasa's webbie hehe!

How do we go about with this pampering treat?
Wash- tone- ampoule- mask (massage the remaining essence into your face after)-tone (to remove the remaining essence that can't be absorbed into your face) and lastly moisturize

Oh Oh! Never forget the eyes as they are windows to our souls :) I LOVE BEAUTIFUL EYES! I use eye cream and eye mask!! In case you are wondering, yes, I have foot masks too. haha! My feet needs pampering after the torture! It's actually more about preventing cracked heels as I find that SO NOT SEXY. Here's a picture of my foot masks because I feel like it! HEHE! WARNING: MAY CAUSE DISCOMFORT! hahaha! SEE YOU NEXT POST!

XOXO,
Cynthia
